Congratulations are due to the Chinese government and Wen Jiabao

I think congratulations are due to the Chinese government for the way it has handled the earthquake crisis.

Within
hours, 50,000 Chinese troops were mobilized to search for survivors.
This was a stark contrast to the Burmese government's secrecy and
refusal to accept outside assistance in the wake of the cyclone.

Wen
Jiabao himself travelled to the affected areas to comfort his people
and was seen to be genuinely moved. This is a human side of Wen Jiabao
that we haven't seen in the past.

We have seen soldiers
frantically digging for victims with their bare hands and nurses and
soldiers in tears when their efforts have been in vain.

China's
leaders have been more transparent and responsive than ever before. The
earthquake may well be a defining moment in China's history.

Thanks China....these events will make the Olympics this year very special.

Re: Congratulations are due to the Chinese government and Wen Ji

is you have a digital set top box flick over to cctv4 on sbs news channel.

you will not see any angry parents who lost their only child to corrupt communist bureaucrats who failed to ensure schools where built to standard in a known earthquake zone.

you will not see any mention of the delay in letting in foreign rescue people and dogs in (the Japanese where turned around at the airport, but then let in a few days latter)

so congrats to the commies for their fine media management skills.

that said, much better then Myanmar.

http://chinadigitaltimes.net/ is a good read.

better than Katrina.

Yes a good exercise in justifying social - fascist  order and promoting the military as the back up for the “Communist” parties rule.

This kind  propaganda by the Dengists is traditional .

pyewacket and the cinese people get to see the human side of the great leaders.

It goes back to the days of the last big earthquake .

And the claim by the Dengists  that Hua Gua Feng ,Dengs agent was put in control of China by a dying Mao.

“With you in charge, I am at ease”

Then it was get the troops out  to arrest the “gang of Four” and anybody else that opposed Deng  bringing back capitalism.

It is good to keep in mind that China is still a poor third world country .

Schools  may not be built to first world standards particularly in the countryside because of costs, in the anti-socialist education neglect, practiced by the corrupt central government.

But finding and shooting  few local officials - guilty of   corruption –scapegoats- will suitably demonstrate fascist order and justice by the Dengists  and their fine Army.

I would say a lot better than Katrina.
